"My practice is built on the belief that we are all complex beings whose thoughts, feelings and relationships are inter-connected."
Since 2014, I have been a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
I completed my MA in Counselling Psychology at The University of British Columbia, and I hold a BA from the University of Victoria.
I am passionate about pursuing clinical excellence, and I believe this requires ongoing self-reflection, life-long skill development, and striving towards cross-cultural competence. If you have questions about my ongoing training & education please feel free to inquire with me.
As a counsellor, I work with adult clients seeking support to navigate difficult transitions in their life.
I welcome adult clients of any age, any gender, and any sexual identity.
Transitions may happen to us: unexpected life events, relationship or career changes, accidents, medical diagnoses, loss of loved ones, birth of new loved ones.
Or we might initiate our own transitions: searching for new meaning or purpose in life, seeking or creating a new identity, spiritual or existential explorations.
Transition might be healing from the pain of past or recent traumatic events, and learning to thrive again.
RESPECT AND HONESTY
I believe these are essential to establishing the trust necessary for effective counselling.
HOPE
I believe in my clients - in their strengths, resilience, and ability to make changes in their lives.
CREATIVE COLLABORATION
My clients and I work together, based on their own unique experiences, to create their own unique solutions.
COMPASSIONATE LISTENING
I am always striving towards what has been described as "exquisite empathy", to stay attuned and engaged with my clients at all times.
TRUE ACCEPTANCE
Often in our communities, shame and stigma are attached to asking for help. Whatever the reason for seeking support, I take my clients' concerns very seriously.
HUMOUR
Because, sometimes, it’s important to laugh.

PSYCHOLOGY & PSYCHOTHERAPY:
CLIENT-CENTERED PSYCHOTHERAPY
Research consistently demonstrates that the relationship you form with your therapist is the most important predictor of the outcome of your work together.
SOLUTION-FOCUSED THERAPY
Focusing on our present day reality, developing skills and awareness to solve problems in practical, efficient ways.
TRAUMA THEORY
Along with Attachment Theory, and Cultural & Family Systems theories, trauma theory explains how past experiences have ongoing influence on our daily lives.
COGNITIVE & EMOTION FOCUSED THERAPIES
Expanding our awareness and expression of our own thoughts and feelings are powerful allies in making changes in our lives.
INTERPERSONAL NEUROBIOLOGY & AFFECTIVE NEUROSCIENCE
The latest research provides valuable insights into how our minds and bodies function, and how we can learn to understand and regulate ourselves and each other, when we are exposed to stress.
My services are covered by the BC Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), and the First Nations Health Authority Health Benefits Program.
Rates for individual counselling sessions are $160.00 + GST / session.
Inquire with your insurance provider about coverage for professional counselling.

I am currently accepting new clients for video or phone sessions. I no longer conduct sessions in person. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you’re interested in beginning work together.
